Once again, another song I'd love at a wedding for my father daughter dance....
In My Daughter's Eyes - Martina McBride
In my daughter's eyes, I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me
Gives me strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand around me finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes
I think this past week with the entire family has made me realise how much I've been missing out on in terms of getting to know my family. Seeing how similar I am to everyone and seeing how protective all of us are of each other. I really am blessed to have such a family. Today I can proudly stand and say that I'd do anything for anyone in my family and I know they'd do the same for me. I spend so much time resenting people and some things that've been said and done in the past, I was starting to forget how short this life is. I can't imagine my life without the people I have in it right now. I always say that if I leave, I'll do fine and stuff. But I'm starting to realise that I'll be fine, but I'll be missing my family. No more Chinese New Year gatherings, no more gatherings at Mama's place. Having Amanda and Trae and Aunty Maureen and Uncle Derward and Dustin here reminds me of how quickly this life is passing by. I'm going to be 19 this year and I don't see enough of the people who would do anything to protect me. I'm the youngest of the lot, and my cousins and my siblings, they'd do anything to protect me and I would do the same for them. Cause at the end of the day, we only have our family. I'm soo afraid of losing anyone in my life. Especially the people in this family. Who else would love me so much and yet not be afraid to beat me to straighten me up?
When all is said and done, the only people we have is our family and thats it. They'll be there for us always, doesn't matter the distance.
I love you all, Mum, Dad, Brian, Faith, Mama, Godma May and Jude, Godpa, Marc, Shaun, Kenny, Tracie, Kuku, Aunty Lynn, Aunty Maureen, Uncle Derward, Amanda, Trae, Aunty Ran.

So, keeping in line with my obsession of Father-Daughter dance songs for weddings, this song comes to mind. So nice...Very close to what Butterfly Kisses. So..
Daddy's Angel by T Carter Music ( at least i think thats right.)
I'm giving you away
But I'm not letting go
The memories, they flood my mind
Of the little girl I know
Once upon a time
You held my hand so tight
You'd close your eyes and say a prayer
Then I'd kiss your head goodnight
As we dance I keep our love deep within my heart
And thank God for giving me this angel in my arms...
You're my little angel
So baby don't you cry
It's time to spread your wings and fly
If there's one thing this father knows
The hardest part is letting go
But you will still always be
Daddy's little angel
It seems like yesterday
Has come and gone so fast
Now my baby's all grown up
But the memories will last
It's hard to say goodbye
When you've always been so near
But for now I'll hold you tight
Like those times that I hold dear
As we dance I keep our love deep within my heart
And thank God for giving me this angel in my arms...
You're my little angel
So baby don't you cry
It's time to spread your wings and fly
If there's one thing this father knows
The hardest part is letting go
But you will still always be
Daddy's little angel
When you were young, I used to laugh
At the funny things you'd say
Right now I just can't help but smile
On this blessed day
You're my little angel
So baby don't you cry
It's time to spread your wings and fly
If there's one thing this father knows
The hardest part is letting go
But you will still always be
Daddy's little angel
I'm giving you away
But I'm not letting go

I've decided that if I ever get married...The song to my father-daughter dance will be ........
Lullabye (Goodnight my Angel) by Billy Joel
Time to close your eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say
I promised I would never leave you
And you should always know
Wherever you may go
No matter where you are
I never will be far away
Goodnight, my angel
Now it's time to sleep
And still so many things I want to say
Remember all the songs you sang for me
When we went sailing on an emerald bay
And like a boat out on the ocean
I'm rocking you to sleep
The water's dark and deep
Inside this ancient heart
You'll always be a part of me
Goodnight, my angel
Now it's time to dream
And dream how wonderful your life will be
Someday your child may cry
And if you sing this lullabye
Then in your heart
There will always be a part of me
Someday we'll all be gone
But lullabyes go on and on
They never die
Thats how you
And I
Will be
And I want the song done A Cappella. Its so awesome. And I just realllly love the words. Was thinking of Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle, but I think my sister would use that in her wedding, she'd use either that or Dance With My Father. So yea, Lullabye is definitely up there on my list of songs for a father-daughter dance. :D
But I think at the end of the day I'll let my dad decide. It should be something he wants to say to me and something I want to say to him. So I guess I'll make us both make a list and then from there decide.
I swear I'm the weirdest person I know. Usually people start thinking about their wedding when they're with someone they really love. But I'm single and I'm thinking about a wedding I wanna have. Haha...I think its because I want a wedding that so filled with love and music, and also because in my mind its quite clear the kinda person I wanna marry. It may not come true, but I'm sure I'll find someone who will let me have the kinda wedding I wanna have. It doesn't cost much to have the wedding I wanna have. Entertainment will be no issue...food will be simple, maybe I'll have a barbecue for the dinner reception!!! Sounds fun....hahaha...yes Freda is nonsensical. Haha...But its an idea...Music will be simple a simple acoustic set by friends and me and hopefully the groom (whoever the poor guy ends up being)! Hahaha :)

I was just reading some of the things I've written in my personal diary. My written diary, and I realised that I always think I'm better off alone.
I want to be in a relationship, I want to be in love.
I want to have someone here to cheer me up, make me feel like everything is gonna be fine.
I want someone who will support my decisions, someone who will sit and rationalize through the choices I will have to make in my life.
I want someone who isn't intimidated by my family stucture and our background.
I want someone who will be there for me when it feels like the whole world has turned its back on me.
I want someone who won't mind my constant ramblings.
I want someone my best friend will approve of.
I want a great many things from just one person
And I don't think that one person can be that great many things for me.
I require a lot of attention and I know that.
But I think that I'd just be content watching the person I love, be happy.
Something else I wrote during spiritual prep for the concert last year
I feel that sometimes I keep myself in the dark, not wanting to be in a place where everything can be seen. The Light is scary, intimidating, but yet warm and welcoming. I've been running away for so long, distracted by the hustle and bustle of everyday life and I just regressed into my shell to be alone in the darkness. A place where I can hide my flaws from myself and those around me.
I'm so afraid of being in The Light and testifying to the things I've seen and done and said and thought. I'm just scared.
Everyone gets scared at some point. I think I get scared more often than not. But for today at least, I'm not afraid to say that I want to be loved by someone other than my family and friends. I'm not afraid to say that I have soo many flaws that most people don't even see. I'm not afraid of admitting that I am afraid despite what other people may think. I'm afraid of running through my life, ever stopping to see that there is someone else beside me who is running at just that same speed so they can be in my life.
